This happened today ... and I couldn't be prouder of our staff and community! In January of this year, El Gato Azul began an Employee Contribution Program called "Gato Gives". The idea is to encourage philanthropy, and give back to our community to organizations that provide vital services to those less fortunate, or serve a specific need. Participating employees contribute each pay period and El Gato matches that dollar for dollar. Along with a gift from Fann Contracting, and the Arizona Community Foundation of Yavapai County, Employees nominated and voted on the following groups to receive funds. For our second distribution of 2018, which took place this morning, the recipients were as follows: CASA $831.00 Yavapai Food Bank $711.00 Yavapai Food Bank Christmas Toy Program $495.00 Prevent Child Abuse $915.00 Blue Moon Horse Rescue $555.00 Sunrise Lions Club $603.00 CVHS Stop the Bleed Program $600.00 Northpoint Exchange Program $500.00 Total: $5,2100.00 Total for 2018 $10,733.84 All groups were nominated by participating employees who had to research and provide information to the group as to the services each organization provides.
